Great times for a great cause!

An open letter from our Executive Director

To All our Friends, Partners and Supporters

The purpose of this letter is to notify you that the doors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mississippi will remain open. The agency has secured financial support from the Department of Human Services (DHS) to continue our mentoring program.  The funding from DHS has been monumental in helping us remain committed to impacting the youth in Mississippi.

We remain committed to our unique brand of one-to-one, professionally supported youth mentoring. We are devoted to maintaining our reputation as the most trusted, most respected, most visible, most innovative, and most effective, life changing mentoring organization in the state of Mississippi.

We have some very exciting days that lay ahead of us. Our plan is to stay active, inclusive, trustworthy, empowering, inspiring and committed to the children that we serve across the state.

We aim to foster a culture of commitment by focusing our efforts on:

  • Diversity and inclusion
  • Partnership and collaboration
  • Continuous learning
  • Proven effectiveness through research and evaluation, and high performance
  • Financial sustainability

Although MDHS has decided to reinstate some of our funding, we still need more financial support to help serve the large number of children we have on our waiting list. We are asking that you donate if you can Big or Small!

Thank each and every one of you for your unwavering support. We look forward to BIG matches, BIG engagement, BIG visibility, and BIG growth.

Feel free to contact me or our office anytime!

Let’s make it happen,

Chris Burkett, CEO
